GMC SUVs – Indiana, PA

Many automotive manufacturers claim that their SUVs are the best choice for any aspiring shoppers, with various degrees of success. Although many advancements in the industry have been made in the past couple of decades and there is now a multitude of reliable and efficient lineups available, there is still nothing quite like GMC SUVs. Currently, there are three offerings from GMC; these are the Terrain, Acadia, and Yukon. Each one thrives in doing what an SUV does best, whether it’s for towing, family transportation, or long road trips, to name a few. We at Colonial Motor Mart serve the greater Pennsylvania area with an extensive catalog featuring vehicles both new and used from some of the best automotive manufacturers, including GMC. The automotive industry is always changing, and SUVs are far more prominent and commonplace than ever before. GMC has continually been setting the stage for new and exciting SUVs ever since the launch of the GMC Suburban in 1937, making them trailblazers of sorts. With an extensive history under their belt combined with a consistent pursuit of reliability, GMC has helped to lay the foundation for what an SUV should aspire to be.

Trims of the GMC SUVs

The SL is the base trim for the GMC Terrain and Acadia. When paired with either SUV, this trim is not much different from the next trim, but usually contains a less powerful engine. The SL trim is only available with front-wheel drive and is not offered with all-wheel drive. The SLE is the base trim for the Yukon and is the second trim you can select for the Terrain or Acadia. The Yukon XL is a larger variant of the Yukon with the same choice of trims. SLE allows for more upgradability in the form of packages for the interior, safety features, etc.

The next trim that’s available across the board is the SLT and comes with a few more luxurious features compared to its entry-level counterparts. For example, the GMC Terrain SLT comes with an upgraded infotainment center, a heated power driver seat, and leather-appointed seat trim. The Terrain SLT allows for an engine upgrade, unlike the SL and SLE, and the Acadia SLT comes with a better stock engine than the SLE.

With the Acadia, although there is no SL trim with an all-wheel drive configuration, there is a trim known as AT4 which allows for some enjoyable off-roading. Denali is also seen on the Yukon and Yukon XL and comes standard with third-row seating, much like the SLT, which is an important selling point for many.

GMC SUV Packages

The GMC Yukon, Terrain, and Acadia all offer a variety of packages that you may add to your vehicle for an additional price. These packages add anything from convenience to extra safety features. Packages can be a great option when you are looking to keep the cost low by choosing a lower trim, but have something specific you want to be added to the vehicle.

Driver Alert Package I is available on the SLT, and SLE trims, bringing assisted cruise control to these trims plus a lane change alert with a side blind-zone alert system. Rear cross-traffic alerts and rear park assist are present in this package plus a safety alert seat that vibrates when triggered. If you select this package on the SLE trim, you’ll be treated to power-adjustable heated outside mirrors with built-in LED lights for your signals. Following is the Driver Alert Package II that includes a few new additions such as a head-up display plus both front and rear park assist. Going with the Driver Convenience Package will turn your driver’s seat into a heated 8-way power seat with power lumbar control included plus a 120-volt power outlet and remote start technology.

Infotainment Package I is available on the SLE, while Infotainment Package II is available on the SLT. The first of these packages will increase the screen size of your infotainment center to 8-inches with built-in navigation plus an additional 4.2-inch screen that displays various information regarding phone and audio. You’ll gain an assortment of USB ports for charging and connecting, four to be exact, plus a 110-volt power outlet. Your rear-camera will be upgraded to an HD Rear Vision Camera with this package as well. Infotainment Package II includes the same 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system but includes a premium seven-speaker audio setup from Bose plus the inclusion of HD Radio.

Another great package is the Trailering Package, which is available on each trim except the base SL trim. This package adds a plethora of essential towing equipment to get you started, including a trailer hitch, hitch guidance, trailering assist guidelines, a heavy-duty cooling system, 7-pin wiring harness, and in turn, increases the overall towing capability.

GMC SUVs often contain tech-centric features that fans are really looking to have in their driving experience. It all starts with the GMC Infotainment System, a seven or eight-inch multi-touch screen that acts as the central hub for all of your media playback, amongst other things. You’ll also have the choice of getting built-in navigation on your infotainment system. Depending on the trim you have selected, you may also receive a head-up display that’s projected in front of you with information such as speed. Also, your GMC SUV will come with an assortment of USB ports, which you can utilize for charging your wireless devices or connecting them to the infotainment system itself.

Your GMC SUV may also include a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing your passengers to connect their favorite wireless devices to the network and stream their favorite content without the worries of dead-zones. The GMC Infotainment System has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built-in.
